In an effort to educate more companies in Northeast Ohio and it’s surrounding areas on how to stay environmentally efficient JIT has joined a “zero waste” program that allows them to share what they know about “green” packaging concepts.   The Zero Waste program has multiple meetings and web chats where it’s members and guests can work together on keeping our city clean and reducing their environmental impact.    

Increasingly, many organizations around the world are adopting zero waste programs to counter the real dangers of climate change and world resource depletion.     What does “zero waste” mean?   Simply put, it means zero goes to the landfill.   For each ton of paper we don't recycle, we end up generating an additional 71 tons of waste to create a new ton of paper. This is because 71 tons of "upstream" waste – raw material extraction, product manufacturing and distribution – is created.
